Bell Biv DeVoe – Gangsta [Throwback Music Video]

For all my old school music lovers, if you remember that episode of “Fresh Prince” when that music video was being made in the house and Will & Ty were trying to be in it, this is that song. Most of you viewing this are either to young to know the words or even know the group for that matter. Either ways, enjoy the video.

Clash Of The Titans Throwback Review

Well all the movie hype this weekend is all going to be about Wrath of the Titans. But first, you let’s not get ahead of ourselves and start with the original Clash of the Titans. (On Dvd)

The original plot summary from 1981: “Perseus is the favored son of the god Zeus, but he has unwittingly ticked off the sea goddess Thetis. Just to make things worse, Perseus falls in love with the lovely Princess Andromeda, who used to be engaged to Thetis’s son. Soon Perseus is off on one quest after another, with Zeus helping, Thetis hindering, and lots of innocent bystanders getting stabbed, drowned, and squished.”

The plot in my opinion had given the viewers a chance to actually care for the characters on screen. Its a more expansive and explained more thoroughly. Yes, it does cause it to drag on in some parts, but it just makes for a more understood story. The acting is Horrid, in terms of expression. The director is to blame for this, he didn’t convey his imagination. If he did, then well, I stand corrected and the actors were to blame. The only Note worthy actor was Maggie Smith, which my none muggle readers will know her as Professor Minerva McGonagall. She didn’t have many scenes, but when she was, she had the best expressions. It could be argued that cause she is a house hold name, it could be a bias to say that.

The cinematography was really well done in the start of the film. Then it just disappeared in quality like a Toronto Raptors Defence. The best editing is the intro credits to the movie. We follow a seagull making its way back to mount Olympus and as it flies it covers different terrain which ultimately brings you to normal mountains, then snow top mountains, then finally Mount Olympus. It has this feeling of leaving our boring lives and getting set up for a epic adventure filled of Greek gods.

The cool thing bout this 118 minute Fantasy, has to be the “Stop Motion“. The technique is still used today most commonly in “Robot Chicken”. It gives the film this classic, epic, and mystical feeling. At times it works, and many others it doesn’t. The audio wasn’t anything to rave about. Audio meaning music and sound effects. The composing was weak, and so was some of the choices for the sound effects. When the “Medusa” shows her rattle snake tail, I thought she was going to become a transformer. The Make up did an amazing job as well.

I don’t see many people owning this movie, Unless its your childhood movie or you’re a movie buff, student, etc. Its a rental at best. The behind the scene extra’s are a worth a quick look if you ever rented it.

Overall rating of the movie: 3 out of 5, cinematography: 2.5 out of 5, editing: 3.3 out of 5, Audio: 3 out of 5,: Acting 2 out of 5 Rent-Own? RENT

Look out for the remake review COMING SOON.

THAT’S IT! Cheers: “To Peace” and May the Force be with you!

Captain America May Get New Director For The Sequel

While Captain America: The First Avenger was directed by Joe Johnston and received positive reviews, Vulture is reporting that Marvel Studios is going with a new director(s) for the sequel:

They say: “Vulture hears that the search is narrowing for someone to helm the patriotic hero’s own personal sequel. Insiders tell us that a field of ten directors has been whittled to just three for the follow-up to last summer’s hit: George Nolfi, the writer-director of The Adjustment Bureau; F. Gary Gray, best known for directing The Italian Job; and, naturally … Community’s Anthony and Joseph Russo?”

Vulture adds that Marvel Studios’ Kevin Feige hit it off with the Russos, who have also directed You, Me and Dupree and Welcome to Collinwood.

A decision on the director(s) should be made by mid-April

The Anchorman is back… In a sequel that is

Paramount Pictures has finally given the green light to a sequel to 2004’s Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy. Will Ferrell, who made the announcement himself in-character on “Conan”, will return to the title role with supporting cast members Steve Carell and Paul Rudd said to be involved as well.

Ferrell, whose latest, Casa de mi Padre is in theaters now, will again script alongside Adam McKay, who will be back in the director’s chair.

The original film also starred Christina Applegate, David Koechner, Fred Willard, Fred Armisen, Chris Parnell and many more. Though none of those members of the supporting cast have yet been confirmed. I’m sure before the spring season is done, more cast members will be confirmed from the original Anchorman movie.

“Safe” Trailer.

The trailer for Jason Statham’s newest movie “Safe”. I think its safe to say, Statham may have be “typed cast” as an actor. That isn’t such a bad thing because when he does actions movies his movements seem so believable. The plot for this movie:

“Sometimes a chance meeting can save your life.

Mei (Catherine Chan) is a 10 year-old Chinese math prodigy who is abducted from her home in Nanjing by the Triads; she is sent to America by the Triad Leader Han Jiao (James Hong), where she will serve as a “counter” for their extortion racquets. No computers, no paper trails – she keeps all the numbers in her head. One year later Mei’s new adopted “father” Chang (Reggie Lee) brings her along to count the numbers as he shakes-down his business operations.

Luke Wright (Jason Statham) is a second rate cage fighter in the mixed martial arts circuit in New Jersey. When he blows a rigged fight, the Russian mafia make an example of him – murdering his wife and threatening to kill anyone he forms any kind of friendship or relationship with. Now homeless, destitute and completely isolated from society, Luke wanders the streets of New York like a ghost, hovering on the edge of suicide.

Big things begin to stir in the city, when Triad boss Han Jiao appears in New York, and gives Mei a secret number to memorize; on her way to use this number for an unknown purpose, Mei is violently kidnapped from the Triads by the Russian Mafia, who want the information she now has in her head— as does the corrupt Captain Wolf (Robert John Burke) of the NYPD. Mei manages to escape, but she won’t be able to survive on her own for long.

Standing on a subway platform ready to throw himself under a train, Luke Wright sees the young and terrified Chinese girl being pursued by Russian thugs… he knows something is wrong, and he knows now he has to make a decision: continue on his downward spiral, or come back fighting in order to help a little girl he’s never even met. Luke comes back to life, forcing himself into violent action, and over the course of one harrowing night he tears a swath through the city’s underworld in order to save Mei’s life and redeem his own.”

in my opinion it looks a like a “B-Rated” movie that did really well in Asia and is finally here to gain some North American buzz. That being said Id still watch it, and will give you guys a review for sure.

THAT’S IT! Cheers: “To Peace” and May the Force be with you!

City Of Scars

As I said, this is the first video to “Batman Seeds of Arkham in what I’m guessing may become a trilogy or even webisode styled. DC/(the)WB really needs to contact this guy and get him to do some work for them.

This story takes place out of continuity as I said with the other video.

“When the Joker escapes from Arkham and murders the parents of a young boy, Batman recalls the pain of losing his own parents as a child. He is pushed past his limits to the point where his focus becomes revenge on all who stand in his way, including many of Gotham’s underworld. Finally, Batman is forced to look at the psychological profile of his own mind and accept the consequences of his life to find resolve.”

If that isn’t a good Batman story for the live-action medium, I don’t know what is. So watch it, enjoy it rate and comment on it.

THAT’S IT! Cheers: “To Peace” and May the Force be with you!

Bat In The Sun’s New Movie, Batman Seeds of Arkham

This is the second video to what was started in “City of Scars” that features “Batman” that’s totally fan made and for the most part, well done. It has nothing to do with Batman outside of the principles that make Batman who he is, and the characters, it won’t mess with any continuity from the  comic books or  the Bale/Nolan movies that have been released and are to be released (one such film being “The Dark Knight Rises). It follows the shocking end of the first video and introduces three new characters, Richard (aka Dick grayson aka the first robin, who now he has become “Nightwing” like he has in the comic books.) “Poison Ivy, and Killer Croc. ENJOY.

THAT’S IT! Cheers: “To Peace” and May the Force be with you!

TMNT Or Just Ninja Turtles?

Platinum Dunes’ Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles is set to feature a very non-traditional origin for its reptilian heroes. In fact, producer Michael Bay hints that the turtles may not be mutants at all, which has sparked much “fan hate”.

Word arrives via Stuff We Like and a video of Bay speaking at last week’s Nickelodeon Upfront in New York where he states:

Could this be the "Alien" versions? (NOT OFFICIAL artwork of the pending movie)

since this statement was made (and probably taken out of context in my opinion), Bay has realized to counter statements to respond to the fans who have become upset at Bay for “ruining their childhood”

Fans need to take a breath, and chill. They have not read the script. Our team is working closely with one of the original creators of Ninja Turtles to help expand and give a more complex back story. Relax, we are including everything that made you become fans in the first place. We are just building a richer world.”

and his 2nd statement which is most recent.

“Paramount marketing changed the name. They made the title simple. The characters you all remember are exactly the same, and yes they still act like teenagers. Everything you remember, why you liked the characters, is in the movie. This script is being developed by two very smart writers, with one of the original creators of Ninja Turtles. They care VERY MUCH about making this film for the fans. Everyone on this team cares about the fans. Just give them a chance. Jonathan the director, is a major fan of the whole franchise. HE’S NOT GOING TO LET YOU DOWN.

MICHAEL”

To be directed by Jonathan Liebesman, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles will feature a script from Josh Appelbaum, Andrew Nemec, Art Marcum, Matt Holloway and John Fusco.

The franchise, which began as a black and white comic book series in 1984, rose to tremendous popularity when it became an animated series in 1987. Following the first live-action film in 1990, the series spawned two live-action sequels, a live-action television series, a second animated series and a CGI feature film.

Just announced for a Christmas Day, 2013 release.

Do I feel like its needed to be called TMNT? (Teenaged Mutant Ninja Turtles for you muggles) No. To be honest I’d rather them make a movie thats good and has the same elements that made many fall in love with mutated, teenaged turtles in the first place.

As long as they aren’t anti hero then I’m ok with it. many bash Bay for the Transformers run he has, I don’t think any of them are right to do so. All three, in my opinion, were great movies and I can’t wait for the forth one. Hopefully the director does take into account what the fans are asking for when it comes to TMNT and gives them something to be like “OMG THAT WAS INCREDIBLE!” Cause in all honesty, 1987 was 25 years ago, so really its time to pass the torch to the new kids coming up.

THAT’S IT! Cheers: “To Peace” and May the Force be with you!
