The God Killer.

Tony killed… Destroyed…. Fragmented the all powerful Phoenix Force  and now he has to deal with this on an intergalactic level. He travels to “The Voldi Tear” where he defends an ancient artificial world from “Mechanoid Pirate fleet”. Afterwards, Tony meets an attractive female alien whom he seductively convinces to take him back to her palace for some one on one time. But things go south and he is kicked out of the woman of the night’s room. He is, no sooner caught by the “police” of this foreign land for “Decide”.

Have you ever watched the original Star Trek with William Shatner? Well one of the things about that show, was that he could seduce any woman on any planet. And somehow these women all had the right working parts for people of earth… Yeah odd. So this issue even mentions it. It’s nice because of all the Marvel heroes, Tony is the most like Captain Kirk. He is the Marvel male whore. Clearly his libido  knows no boundaries… In this world or the next. I was gonna drop this book book the issue before, because I felt Matt Fraction’s run was a lot better and closer to the movie version which is the definitive version of Tony since his inception (arguably). His had company espionage, huge stories which lead to a big payoff, sex, Pepper, sex with Pepper and Maria Hill…. I could go on. Just know it had a lot. The first arc of Kieron Gillen was based off a previous story. (extremis) But it just didn’t really work for me. I decided to read this because it deals with the aftermath of AVX… Which kinda seemed to be swept under the rug so to speak. (unless you’re reading an ‘X’ book. The first issue is cool and that’s what I’m sticking with in terms of writing. I do fear what the outcome will be, seeing as how it’s a short arc (three issues)

Greg Land is a new artist that I’ve never heard of. Well maybe not new new…. But I haven’t heard of him. (maybe due to the books I was reading before the creative switch). But he can draw an amazing book. A lot of great detail to not just the characters in the book, but the background. Which is often lost in the medium I find (often I see characters on plain backgrounds). Even though their purple, the females are very elegant in terms of style and appearance. Just the lever of work is worthy to make Greg Land an artist to follow regardless of what he’s attached to. The work of” Guru efx and Jay Leisten, colourist and inner respectively, are great addition to the penciler.
