He’s A Mutant Terrorist and An Avenger

Quicksilver, who along with his sister Scarlet Witch, is set to appear in Joss Wedon’s Avengers 2 , is now also going to be appearing in X-Men: Days of Future Past, which is currently filming.

Director Bryan Singer tweeted the news on his personal account.

“Before he was an #Avenger, he was just a REALLY fast kid. Thrilled to say #EvanPeters is joining #XMen #DaysOfFuturePast as #Quicksilver.”

Quicksilver

The way Singer phrased the tweet, it would seem there was an agreement made, that Fox would get to use Quicksilver as a younger character, perhaps in the past scenes, while Marvel Studios will use an older, more adult version of the character. As we previously reported, Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch are a strange, unique case, where both studios have the rights to the characters, as they are both mutants (being the children of Magneto), and also longtime Avengers. As Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige said last year, “They’re uh – It’s a little complicated, but if they want to use them in an X-Men movie they could, and if we want to use them in an Avengers movie we could. They’re unique.”

Evan Peters is a 26 year-old actor best known to comic book fans as “Todd,” one of Dave’s friends in Kick-Ass. More as this story develops.

Trailer Park: Week 2

I cant watch this but you can.

Five friends who reunite in an attempt to top their epic pub crawl from 20 years earlier unwittingly become humankind’s only hope for survival.

This Wolverine trailer that has additional footage.

Seems to be a little more on the silly side from its predecessor but I’m sure it will still be funny with a great message.

Iron Man Stands Behind his Team

The future of Avengers 2, now hangs in the balance as the studio is preparing to go into talks with Robert Downey Jr.

However the star, who received a colossal $50 million for ‘Marvel’s The Avengers‘, is thought to be fighting for a pay rise for his superhero co-stars who each made a comparatively tiny $200,000 from the movie.

[Related story: Iron Man will continue with or without Downey Jr]

(Copyright: Disney)
Marvel Studios bosses and Downey Jr are said to be currently negotiating his role in both ‘The Avengers 2’ and ‘The Avengers 3’, heading from Marvel’s ‘phase two’ plans and into the realm of ‘phase 3’.

So far, says the Hollywood Reporter, there’s no talk yet of an ‘Iron Man 4’, with Downey Jr remaining vague about whether he will play Tony Stark again in a stand-alone film.

What is known, however, is that signing the actor for the ‘Avengers’ sequels will almost certainly cost the notoriously frugal studio heavily.

With his various percentage and profit sharing deals, he made a colossal $50 million for ‘Avengers Assemble’, a fee he himself called ‘crazy’ in an interview with GQ magazine, adding that the studio was ‘p*ssed’ that he made so much from the film, despite it taking $1.5 billion at the box office.

According to Deadline, he’s already made $35 million from ‘Iron Man 3’, but it’s now thought that RDJ is leading the way for the other actors in the Marvel sequels to get substantial pay rises for the future films if they want him to re-sign.

One source told Deadline: “He’s the only guy with real power in this situation. and balls of steel, too. He’s already sent a message that he’s not going to work for a place where they treat his colleagues like sh*t.”

Marvel producer Kevin Feige has said that the character of Iron Man will endure, with or without Downey Jr, but that would be in a future incarnation or a rebooted version some time in the future.

But while Downey Jr would be near impossible to replace as Tony Stark without ruining continuity in the current series, it’s possible that other Avengers could be replaced in the forthcoming films, particularly the likes of the Hulk, who has been played by several actors in recent years.

‘The Avengers 2’ is due for May 1, 2015, while other Marvel projects in the offing include Edgar Wright’s ‘Ant-Man’, ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ and mooted projects including ‘Dr Strange’, ‘Iron Fist’ and ‘Black Panther’.

Speed and Chaos Coming to Avengers 2

Scarlet-Witch-QuicksilverA rumor started a few weeks ago that Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch would be joining the team in the upcoming Avengers sequel. Further signs continued to point towards the characters’ inclusion in the film and now writer/director Joss Whedon has confirmed the characters will appear in an interview with IGN. In the interview, he spoke about their involvement in the film.

“You know, they had a rough beginning. They’re interesting to me because they sort of represent the part of the world that wouldn’t necessarily agree with The Avengers. So they’re not there to make things easier. I’m not putting any characters in the movie that will make things easier.”

We’ve learned exclusively at SuperheroHype that Irish actress Saoirse Ronan is the “prototype” for their version of the Scarlet Witch, but no casting has taken place.

Whedon also spoke about how the ending to Iron Man 3 (spoiler ahead!) showed a potentially changed Tony, but he’s still tied to The Avengers.

“Well, I feel like in Iron Man 3, even though he said, ‘I’ve changed’ — he blew up his remote suits, but I don’t think anybody thinks he doesn’t have one anymore. The question is, if The Avengers are called, does he show up? And the answer is, ‘Yes!’”

Casting for The Avengers 2 is still coming together with many rumors flying around about potential actors being replaced. Regardless of who ultimately assembles for the sequel, Marvel’s The Avengers 2 hits the big screen on May 1, 2015.
