Speed and Chaos Coming to Avengers 2

Scarlet-Witch-QuicksilverA rumor started a few weeks ago that Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch would be joining the team in the upcoming Avengers sequel. Further signs continued to point towards the characters’ inclusion in the film and now writer/director Joss Whedon has confirmed the characters will appear in an interview with IGN. In the interview, he spoke about their involvement in the film.

“You know, they had a rough beginning. They’re interesting to me because they sort of represent the part of the world that wouldn’t necessarily agree with The Avengers. So they’re not there to make things easier. I’m not putting any characters in the movie that will make things easier.”

We’ve learned exclusively at SuperheroHype that Irish actress Saoirse Ronan is the “prototype” for their version of the Scarlet Witch, but no casting has taken place.

Whedon also spoke about how the ending to Iron Man 3 (spoiler ahead!) showed a potentially changed Tony, but he’s still tied to The Avengers.

“Well, I feel like in Iron Man 3, even though he said, ‘I’ve changed’ — he blew up his remote suits, but I don’t think anybody thinks he doesn’t have one anymore. The question is, if The Avengers are called, does he show up? And the answer is, ‘Yes!’”

Casting for The Avengers 2 is still coming together with many rumors flying around about potential actors being replaced. Regardless of who ultimately assembles for the sequel, Marvel’s The Avengers 2 hits the big screen on May 1, 2015.

G.I. Joe: Movie Review

Well its out,

Director: Jon M. Chu Writers: Rhett ReesePaul Wernick

CAST:

As you might have heard this was (link) was to come out some 8 months ago, but under went a 3-D conversion. As of late, the conversions have been as good as those filmed for 3-D. This isn’t one of those movies. Hell I don’t even know what this movie was trying to be.

Almost every important noteworthy “joe” is either killed off or never spoken of (from this I should have known that this was gonna be a crap movie.. But it had Bruce Willis). The Rock aka Dwayne Johnson is the new guy, and basically the lead for this movie. He isn’t the best actor. But his craft is getting better (I remember reading he did movies like the “Tooth Fairy” to get a better grasp of the art form). Bruce Willis was my draw to the movie, but he was barely used. But when he was on camera, he did delight with the action scenes he had. Oh and RZA makes a surprise in the movie.. His role was weird. He was some kind of Asian sense and the entire plot around his part of the movie was too convoluted to make sense to this trini movie critic.

I said earlier that I don’t know what this movie was, I mean in the first one, it’s CLEARLY geared towards children and early teens. This one has more of an adult theme but still very much a child friendly movie thanks to the PG rating I’m sure. Then it’s kinda unsure if this truly is a sequel since its basically a new cast, and reappearances that don’t make ANY sense.

Bottom line, don’t see it in theatres or if you do, don’t see it in 3d if possible. It’s solely a cash grab. Everything cool about this, is in the trailer.

Rating:

  • Overall rating of the movie: 2 out of 5,
  • Cinematography: 1 out of 5,
  • Editing: 2 out of 5,
  • Audio: 3 out of 5,
  • Acting: 2 out of 5,
  • Theatres or wait for the blu-ray? Honestly, just download it, and keep it for when your have children around or something.

THAT’S IT! Cheers: “To Peace” and May the Force be with you!

Captain America May Get New Director For The Sequel

While Captain America: The First Avenger was directed by Joe Johnston and received positive reviews, Vulture is reporting that Marvel Studios is going with a new director(s) for the sequel:

They say: “Vulture hears that the search is narrowing for someone to helm the patriotic hero’s own personal sequel. Insiders tell us that a field of ten directors has been whittled to just three for the follow-up to last summer’s hit: George Nolfi, the writer-director of The Adjustment Bureau; F. Gary Gray, best known for directing The Italian Job; and, naturally … Community’s Anthony and Joseph Russo?”

Vulture adds that Marvel Studios’ Kevin Feige hit it off with the Russos, who have also directed You, Me and Dupree and Welcome to Collinwood.

A decision on the director(s) should be made by mid-April

THAT’S IT! Cheers: “To Peace” and May the Force be with you!
